Toothbrush Training

After the rigorous (seemingly never-ending) experience of teething parents become responsible for yet another task when it comes to taking care of baby - keeping those little baby teeth safe and healthy. Now, most medical sources say that toothpaste is unnecessary for baby's first teeth - but brushing is of great importance. A baby toothbrush with a small bristle head is all that is required. Our favorite: The Baby Banana Bendable Training Toothbrush! My mom picked it up when Ellie first sprouted some teeth - and she has been chewing on it ever since. She actually gets excited when I hand it to her - and like everything else that makes it into her tiny hand...it goes directly to her mouth. She even swipes the bristles back and forth over her teeth a bit because it feels good. I help her out just to make sure some actual brushing (rather than simply chewing) gets in. But for the most part she is able to do it herself - which she LOVES.
With a small price tag, this little brush is a great tool for taking care of those first teeth. And if your child is anything like mine - it will double as a great little teether, as well!
